Learn about some of the world's oldest handmade toys made with the simplest of materials like string, leaves, paper, and...skills.  It's a perfect blend of science, physics, and art!  A slideshow provides endless inspiration for making unique creations using your household items and imagination.  This workshop can be adapted as a design challenge focused on specific materials (cardboard, plastic, fabric...) or toys (boats, rocket ships, robots...).  It provides hours of self-motivated creative play while highlighting the value of handcrafting, resourcing, and reuse.
